Schedule a Free Field Trip Program for K-12 School Groups at the New Mexico Wildlife Center in Los Alamos

The New Mexico Wildlife Center has welcomed Corazón, an American Barn Owl, as its newest Ambassador Animal. Corazón, hatched in 2018 as part of a breeding project, is now fulfilling her role in educating the public about her species. The center is now offering free field trip programs for K-12 school groups, thanks to a grant from the New Mexico Economic Development Department. This grant covers the cost of bus transportation and substitute teacher coverage, making wildlife education accessible to all students in New Mexico. Students visiting the center will have the opportunity to learn about native wildlife, ecosystems, and conservation, as well as meet the Ambassador Animals. To schedule a field trip for the spring 2025 semester, school group leaders can contact NMWC at education@newmexicowildlifecenter.org.
