Arizona football secures transfer of top WR Luke Wysong from New Mexico

Arizona football made a big move by landing New Mexico wide receiver Luke Wysong in the transfer portal, as announced by Wysong on social media. Wysong had an impressive season with the Lobos, leading the team with 69 catches for 840 receiving yards as a redshirt junior. In a game against Arizona, he caught eight passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.

Known for his versatility, Wysong primarily played in the slot but also lined up outside and in the backfield. He also has experience returning kickoffs and punts, adding depth to Arizona’s roster. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 184 pounds, Wysong is a New Mexico native and a standout player from Cleveland High School.

Rated as a three-star transfer recruit by 247 Sports, Wysong’s addition comes shortly after top receiver Tetairoa McMillan declared for the NFL Draft. Arizona also saw tight end Dorian Thomas, wide receiver Reymello Murphy, and wide receiver A.J. Jones enter the transfer portal. In addition to Wysong’s arrival, the Wildcats have a new offensive coordinator in Seth Doege, who plans to implement a flexible offense with quarterback Noah Fifita as a top priority.

With Wysong’s impressive stats and versatility, Arizona football is gearing up for an exciting season ahead. Fans can expect to see Wysong in action as part of the team’s offensive lineup.
