The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation is now accepting grant applications for its Technology in Schools Program, which aims to help Santa Barbara County schools enhance technology access in classrooms. The deadline to apply for the 2025-26 school year is April 30, and applications must be submitted online at www.chumash.gov/foundation. School administrators and faculty in Santa Barbara County are encouraged to apply for grant funding to purchase hardware, upgrade infrastructure, incorporate high-tech resources, and improve curriculum. Since its start in 2015, the Technology in Schools Program has awarded over $550,000 in grants to local schools. In the most recent cycle, nearly $70,000 was granted to both public and private schools in the County. The top grant recipients for the 2024-25 school year included Los Olivos Elementary School, Santa Barbara Unified School District, Saint Louis de Montfort Catholic School in Santa Maria, and College School District in Santa Ynez. These schools received funds for items such as MacBooks, digital projectors, laptops, graphing calculators, a 3D printer, and an interactive whiteboard. The Technology in Schools Program has been a significant source of support for schools looking to enhance their technological resources, and the Foundation is eager to continue its efforts in the upcoming school year. Interested schools are encouraged to apply before the April 30 deadline.
