One person has died and three are still missing after an 18-foot vessel capsized near Goat Island on St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. The incident occurred Friday evening, prompting a response from the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department and the U.S. Coast Guard. Four individuals were rescued from the water, while four more were possibly trapped underneath the vessel. Despite efforts from rescue teams, the search for the missing individuals, including an adult and two minors, continued throughout the night without success. The search resumed the following morning. The cause of the boat capsizing is currently under investigation. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission also assisted with the search efforts. Unfortunately, one of the missing individuals was found deceased, but their identity has not been disclosed.
