Despite the challenges, Mexico has agreed to accept non-Mexican migrants in the past, particularly from countries like Cuba and Venezuela that often refuse deportation flights from the United States but may accept them from Mexico.
President Sheinbaum stated that Mexico is prepared to receive deportees properly and has a plan in place. She also expressed a desire to host a meeting of the region’s foreign ministers to discuss immigration issues. As the situation unfolds, Mexico will need to navigate its obligations and concerns regarding the influx of non-Mexican migrants from the United States.
