Adtran Launches White Rabbit on Oscilloquartz Timing Platforms for Sub-Nanosecond Synchronization
Adtran, a leading provider of networking and communications equipment, has announced the launch of White Rabbit on its Oscilloquartz timing platforms. This new technology delivers sub-nanosecond synchronization, offering industries that require ultra-precise timing the ability to achieve superior data consistency, efficiency, and performance.
White Rabbit extends IEEE 1588 PTP with precise delay calibration and phase tracking techniques to achieve sub-nanosecond accuracy. Unlike other implementations that require dedicated hardware, Adtran’s software-based approach allows for a seamless upgrade on its widely deployed Oscilloquartz timing solutions, making high-precision synchronization easily accessible.
Adtran’s OSA 5412, OSA 5422, OSA 5430, and OSA 5440 timing solutions now feature White Rabbit, enhancing the capabilities of standard PTP to ensure stable synchronization over fiber networks. This upgrade supports seamless deployment as a master, client, or intermediary timing node, catering to industries such as finance, data centers, and research institutions where precise timing is crucial for operations.
Gil Biran, GM of Oscilloquartz at Adtran, emphasized the importance of ultra-precise timing in industries that rely on real-time data. He highlighted the ease of integrating White Rabbit technology into existing networks, positioning Adtran as a leader in high-precision timing solutions.
Igal Pinhasov, VP of Product Line Management at Oscilloquartz, noted the evolution of accurate time synchronization from a niche requirement to a key enabler of critical network infrastructure. By pushing precision beyond a single nanosecond into the picoseconds range, Adtran’s White Rabbit technology supports the most advanced applications in science and communications, enabling organizations to timestamp events with absolute certainty and enhance network performance.
