The New Mexico State Aggies made a strong start at the GCU Invitational, finishing the first day in second place on the team leaderboard. Despite play being suspended due to darkness, most players completed all 36 holes, with the Aggies sitting just six strokes behind the host Grand Canyon team. Senior Aidan Thomas led the Aggies with a strong performance, finishing the day tied for third place after shooting a 68 in the second round. Alexandre Bauduin also had a solid day, finishing at even par and tied for 12th place. Three other Aggies finished the day tied for 24th place, while freshman Mateo Payán is currently in a tie for 41st. This strong showing by the Aggies puts them in a good position heading into the final round of the tournament.
