NM State continues its domination by defeating UNM


LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State softball team secured a 6-2 victory over rival New Mexico, marking their 20th win in the last 23 meetings between the two teams. The Aggies started strong with back-to-back three-run innings, taking an early lead they never relinquished. Kristiana Watson’s three-run homer highlighted the offense, leading to the victory. Faith Aragon also played a key role on the mound, holding off the Lobos and securing the win for NM State.

The victory improved the Aggies to a 15-11 overall record and 2-1 in CUSA play. Head Coach Kathy Rodolph praised the team’s effort and unity in the rivalry game. Lauren Garcia, a former Lobo, expressed pride in defeating her former team and highlighted the team’s fearless and passionate performance.

NM State will look to continue their success as they prepare to host Jacksonville State for their CUSA home opener.
