NM State’s dominant offensive performance led to a 13-8 victory over Oakland in a back-and-forth battle on Saturday evening at Presley Askew Field. The Aggies had 13 combined hits and a six-run seventh inning that put the game out of reach. Leadoff hitter Jonatan Clough went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and an RBI, while Steve Solorzano drove in three runs. NM State’s Hayden Lewis started on the mound, allowing six runs before the bullpen closed out the game.
The Aggies set season highs in RBIs, stolen bases, and triples. Clough scored four times and stole three bases, while Solorzano had a standout performance. Mitch Namie extended his hit streak to 10 games, and Aidan Lombardi got his first hit as an Aggie.
