The Colorado Springs Bike Swap is back this year on April 12th at SoccerHaus, offering cyclists the chance to buy and sell gear and bikes as they prepare for the summer riding season. The event, in its ninth year, will feature industry professionals and enthusiasts selling items such as tubes, tools, apparel, and new and used bikes. The entry fee is $5, with proceeds going to benefit Kids on Bikes and Colorado Springs Mountain Bike Association. Organized by Gabe Alvarado, the swap is described as a “transition year” as the benefiting organizations will take over organizing duties next year. Vendors can reserve booths starting at $30 for individuals or $120 for businesses, with an additional $15 fee to include a price-tagged bike in the corral. The swap typically sees 60-80 vendors and between 600-800 attendees each year. Alvarado emphasizes the strong community aspect of the event, stating that attendees can trust they won’t be ripped off and that there are resources available for those looking to purchase a bike for their child. The annual Colorado Springs Bike Swap is a popular pre-season event for cyclists to buy, sell, and upgrade their gear, all while supporting local nonprofits in the cycling community.
