Ole Miss track & field had an impressive Day One at the New Mexico Classic, with Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan breaking records in the weight throw. His heave of 24.17m put him in elite company, ranking 12th in collegiate history and third in SEC history. Bryson Smith and Jake Dalton also had strong performances in the weight throw. Arvesta Troupe excelled in the high jump, finishing in first place with a career-best jump. The men’s 200-meter dash saw impressive performances from freshmen Wesley Todd, Jordan Urrutia, and Tarique Wright. Skylar Soli and Akaoma Odeluga represented well in the women’s weight throw. Overall, the Rebel men sit in third place in the team standings, while the women are in 13th place after Day One. Action continues on Saturday with the women’s shot put.
