After bringing much-needed rainfall to southern California, an upper level-cutoff low is slowly moving eastward, bringing widespread rain and snow to the Four Corners region. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for northwest Arizona, with further alerts issued for areas further east. Snow is expected to impact Arizona through Tuesday, intensifying and expanding overnight into Wednesday. Significant snow accumulations are possible in the mountains, benefiting ski resorts and improving the water picture for the region. The Colorado River Watershed is currently running at 79% of average, while the Rio Grande Watershed is at 53%, well below expected snowpack levels for this time of year. The upcoming system is expected to help increase snowpack levels in both watersheds. For the latest Southwest forecast, tune in at :50 past the hour, every hour.
