Cal Track and Field Shows Dominance at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational

The Cal track and field team continued their successful season at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in New Mexico. Senior David Foster stood out with a dominant win in the 60m race, while redshirt senior Jared Freeman and junior Jason Plumb also had strong performances.

Redshirt sophomore Will Siemens and redshirt senior Iyan Godwin also had impressive showings, with Godwin moving up in the school record books. On the women’s side, Giavonna Meeks and Valentina Savva led the way with personal bests in the weight throw.

The men’s 4x400m relay team set a school record, and individual athletes like Johnny Goode and Tyler Burns also made their mark with record-breaking performances. Freshman Paige Porter and Myla Canty also set personal bests in their events.

The Bears will be competing in two meets next week, continuing to showcase their talent and drive for success on the track.
