KRQE News 13: Firefighters come back to New Mexico following mission in California

Several New Mexico firefighters have returned home after being deployed to help battle wildfires in California. The group, consisting of 10 firefighters, had been assisting with the Caldor Fire in northern California for several weeks before being released and allowed to return to their home state.

The firefighters were part of a larger contingent from New Mexico that had been deployed to California to aid in the firefighting efforts. The Caldor Fire, which has been raging for weeks, has consumed over 200,000 acres and forced thousands of residents to evacuate their homes.

Upon returning to New Mexico, the firefighters expressed gratitude for the opportunity to help their fellow firefighters in California and for the support they received from their families and communities. They also noted the challenging conditions they faced while battling the massive wildfire.

As the firefighters settle back into their routine in New Mexico, they are already preparing for the possibility of being deployed to other areas in need of assistance. Their dedication to serving others and bravely confronting dangerous situations is an inspiration to us all.
