New Mexico’s Donovan Dent made a strong case for the Mountain West Conference men’s basketball Player of the Year with a 34-point performance against UNLV on Saturday, leading his team to a 75-73 victory. Dent’s teammate, Nelly Junior Joseph, also stood out with 22 points and 18 rebounds. Despite UNLV’s Dedan Thomas Jr.’s 18 points and seven assists, they fell short. Utah State also had a strong showing, defeating Air Force 87-58, with Ian Martinez and Mason Falslev leading the way.
