The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs are set to take on the Western New Mexico Mustangs in a Lone Star Conference divisional game at the First United Bank Center in Canyon on Thursday night. The Lady Buffs are coming off a 77-72 victory over UT Permian Basin, with Kyla Kane leading the charge with 23 points.
Western New Mexico, on the other hand, has yet to secure a win this season, currently holding a 0-13 record. The Mustangs are looking to turn their luck around after suffering recent defeats at the hands of Midwestern State and Lubbock Christian.
Alina Martin leads the way offensively for Western New Mexico, averaging 9.8 points per game. The Lady Buffs, with a 16-2 advantage in the series against the Mustangs, will be looking to extend their dominance on their home court.
The game will be broadcasted live on FloCollege, continuing the Lone Star Conference’s run of in-division games before facing cross-division opponents. West Texas A&M’s impressive athletic program continues to rank among the best in NCAA Division II.
