NM State Swimming and Diving celebrated Senior Day with a dominating performance against WAC rival Grand Canyon, winning by a final score of 173-127. The Aggies took the crown in 10 of 16 events, with multiple first-place finishes from Naomi Slee, Emily Dobbins, Dijana Mazumdar, Faye McDonagh, and Katie Rink. The team showed strength in relay events and individual races, with strong performances across the board.
In addition to the swimming events, the diving team also excelled, with Mira Tinani leading the way in the 1M dive and the team securing a top-four finish in the event. Despite a strong showing from Grand Canyon in the 3M dive, the Aggies managed to secure the victory with a well-rounded performance.
Head Coach Rick Pratt expressed gratitude for the City of Las Cruces and the team’s seniors, Izzy and Lina, for their leadership and dedication to the program. The team will now focus on preparing for upcoming meets, with the divers heading to Flagstaff for the Northern Arizona Diving Invite and a final regular season meet against New Mexico in Albuquerque.
