President of NAACP in Albuquerque for many years passes away


Harold Bailey, prominent University of New Mexico educator and president of the NAACP in Albuquerque, has passed away at the age of 78. Bailey, who originally moved to New Mexico from Texas in 1948, had a longstanding career at UNM where he earned multiple degrees and held various leadership roles. Throughout his career, Bailey was known for his advocacy for children and the African American community, working on issues related to civil rights, education, and childhood development.
