In an effort to prepare for winter weather, the New Mexico Department of Transportation is allowing residents to vote on names for 12 snowplow trucks. With 700 submissions received, the list has been narrowed down to 50 options available for voting until noon on Friday. Some of the creative names up for consideration include “Scoop Dogg,” “Blizzard of Oz,” and “No More Mr. Ice Guy.” The top 12 names that receive the most votes will be assigned to the snowplows in use throughout the state. New Mexicans can cast their ballots at www.dot.nm.gov/name-a-plow/ and select one name from the list of options. This fun initiative allows residents to get involved and have a say in naming the snowplows that will be working to keep roads clear during the winter months.
