President-elect Donald Trump said that he and former President Barack Obama “probably do” like each other, noting their friendly interaction at President Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Despite their differing philosophies and past criticism of each other, Trump acknowledged that they have gotten along, as he tends to do with most people. The Obamas have previously criticized Trump, with Obama referring to him as a “78-year-old billionaire” and Michelle Obama expressing serious concerns about his presidency. However, there have been moments of mutual respect, such as Trump praising Obama as a “nice gentleman” and the cordial meeting they had at the White House after Trump’s 2016 victory. Despite their political differences, Trump and Obama have found a way to maintain a somewhat amicable relationship.
