Hiker from Australia found alive after enduring two weeks on muesli bars and berries

Australian student Hadi Nazari, 23, was found alive after almost two weeks of being missing while hiking in Kosciuszko National Park in New South Wales. He survived on berries and two muesli bars found in a hut, as well as drinking creek water. His friends alerted authorities when he didn’t arrive at their meeting point, sparking a massive search effort with over 300 rescuers and volunteers. Signs of his presence, such as trash, hiking poles, a campfire, a camera, and a camera bag, had been found prior to his discovery. Hazari was found by a passing hiking group who heard him calling for help. Despite believing it had only been seven days, he was found in good spirits. He was assessed by paramedics at the search base camp, where he was reunited with his family. Rescuers praised Hazari’s survival instincts and the efforts of all those involved in the search operation. The outcome, described as “incredible” by New South Wales Police, brought relief and joy to all involved in the search effort.
