Finley’s Levies Could Make a Positive Impact on Technology and Staffing

Finley School District in Finley, Washington is seeking additional funding through an educational program and operations levy in order to provide staffing support and much-needed technology upgrades. Superintendent Bryan Long emphasized the importance of these levies in ensuring the smooth operation of the district’s schools.

The EP&O levy, if passed, is expected to generate $2 million for staffing support, while a second levy would bring in $200,000 for technology purposes. Long highlighted the critical role these funds play in maintaining the district’s ability to continue providing quality education to its students.

The second levy would specifically address the financial struggles the district is facing in terms of technology needs, such as replacing chromebooks, WiFi points, and servers. Long expressed gratitude for the community’s support and emphasized the collaborative effort required to ensure the success of the school system.

The levies will require a 50% plus one vote to pass and, if approved, will go into effect in April 2026. Voters will receive pamphlets at the end of January and will have two weeks to cast their votes before the window closes on February 11. Long expressed excitement about the opportunity for the community to partner with the district in continuing to deliver quality education to students.

Overall, the approval of these levies is essential for the Finley School District to continue thriving and providing a supportive learning environment for its students.
