A brush fire exploded in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on Tuesday, leading to tens of thousands of Southern Californians being ordered to evacuate their homes. Fueled by strong Santa Ana winds and dry conditions, the Palisades Fire grew to over 1,200 acres by Tuesday afternoon, with dramatic images showing pillars of smoke and flames advancing toward homes. More than 10,000 homes are under threat, and approximately 30,000 residents have been evacuated. One resident described the scene as “apocalyptic” after fleeing the area. Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin M. Crowley stated that the fire was spreading rapidly and urged residents to evacuate immediately. Evacuation orders are still in place as firefighters work to contain the blaze.
