The New Mexico Boxing Hall of Fame recently held a ceremony to induct new members into the Hall of Fame at the convention center in Albuquerque. The event was kicked off by MC David Finger, with opening remarks and a meet-and-greet for guests. The National Anthem was sung, followed by a blessing from Pastor Troy Smothermon.
Councilman Ed Hildebrandt and Hall of Fame President Ray Baca gave opening remarks before the individuals were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Among the inductees were Legacy Productions members Aaron Perez, Gabriel Carlin, Jordan Perez, and the late Eric Martinez, who have been instrumental in promoting local boxers in New Mexico.
Other inductees included Jacqueline Chaves, Edward Vigil, Chris Linson Jr., Jose Hurtado, Ronnie Rentz, and Chris Flores Jr. Each inductee has made significant contributions to the world of boxing, whether as fighters, trainers, or ambassadors for the sport.
The event also included the presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to Juan Nunez for his dedication to boxing in New Mexico. The ceremony concluded with closing remarks by Ray Baca and a tribute to Hall of Famers who passed away in the previous year.
The New Mexico Boxing Hall of Fame continues to honor those who have made a lasting impact on the sport of boxing in the state. The event was a great success, and the organization looks forward to hosting the 2025 New Mexico State Golden Gloves Tournament in Roswell.
