A Mexico woman, Shelbi Rae Hamilton, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance after a recent drug arrest. During a traffic stop on December 8th, Hamilton’s vehicle was searched, leading to the discovery of three capsules containing fentanyl. Hamilton admitted the drugs were hers. She was already out on bond for her involvement in a fentanyl overdose that resulted in the death of a 62-year-old woman in July in Audrain County. Her next court date for that case is scheduled for January 9th. Following her most recent arrest, Hamilton now faces a new drug possession charge. The incident highlights the ongoing issue of drug-related crimes in the community and serves as a reminder of the dangers associated with drug abuse. Authorities continue to work towards combating the illegal drug trade and holding individuals accountable for their involvement in drug-related offenses.
