Josh Hoover led TCU to a dominant 34-3 victory over Louisiana in the New Mexico Bowl, breaking school records in the process. Hoover passed for 252 yards and four touchdowns, finishing the season with 3,949 passing yards, surpassing the previous record set by Trevone Boykin. TCU’s defense held Louisiana to just 209 total yards, outgaining them by 158 yards. The win marked the Horned Frogs’ fourth straight victory and their sixth in the last seven games. Despite the loss, Louisiana coach Michael Desormeaux praised his team’s accomplishments over the season. TCU head coach Sonny Dykes commended Hoover’s exceptional performance, stating that he has set a high standard for the team. Hoover’s standout plays included a 20-yard touchdown pass to Blake Nowell in the third quarter, extending their lead to 34-0. The Horned Frogs’ defense also held strong, preventing Louisiana from scoring until Kenneth Almendares kicked a 24-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
