Northeast and Great Lakes Region Bracing for More Snow Before Christmas

A storm system is moving across the Great Lakes and Northeast regions, bringing rain and snow in the days leading up to Christmas. The Northeast has already received snow, with more expected between Monday and Tuesday. The Great Lakes region will also see snowfall from Minnesota to Michigan, spreading east until Tuesday night. The West Coast is experiencing slightly above average temperatures, with showers expected in Northern California and Washington. The interior Northeast, Michigan, and Wisconsin are forecasted to receive two to six inches of snow before Christmas Eve, with minimal snowfall expected in New York City and Boston. There is currently no forecast for a white Christmas in many areas as temperatures rise, causing melted snow. The storms may impact holiday travel, especially along the I-95 corridor. Record high temperatures, at least 30 degrees above average, are expected in the Plains and West on Sunday, spreading across the entire contiguous U.S. by Friday.
