A team of New Mexican students from the R4Creating organization impressed in a recent robotics tournament in Dallas, TX, finishing second overall. The program, focused on teaching math, science, technology, and engineering, started as a garage start-up in 2005 and has since impacted thousands of kids in the metro area. The team, named the Rio Rancho Community Team, competed against 73 other teams, showcasing their skills in building robots, presenting their work, and creating engineering books.
Members of the team expressed their love for engineering and problem-solving, with one student stating that the experience has shown them their passion for the field. The competition has also helped students like Autumn, who has been with the organization for six years, improve their public speaking and presentation skills.
