An Albuquerque police shooting resulted in the death of a suspect and injuries to three other individuals. The incident took place outside a gas station on November 11th. Witnesses reported that the suspect, later identified as Hernandez, was intoxicated, dropped a firearm, and pointed it at a child. Surveillance video released by APD showed Hernandez flashing his gun multiple times and firing a shot at officers, prompting a response of 10 shots fired by police. Additionally, gunfire from police hit a man and a woman in a car parked in front of the gas station, as well as another man standing near Hernandez. Despite the chaotic situation, Hernandez’s 3-year-old daughter, who was with him, was unharmed and is now in her mother’s custody. The bystanders who were injured all survived. The shooting is currently under investigation to determine the events leading up to the fatal encounter.
