Liquidation of Properties by CMS

The Clovis Municipal Schools Board has started the process of liquidating some system properties through a sealed bid process. The properties must be approved by the state before they can be sold. This downsizing is part of the system’s master plan introduced earlier this year. Properties that were discussed for sale include the former Raintree Supermarket building, vacant land, and the former Student Support Center. Once permission is granted by the State Board of Finance, a decision is expected in January or February.

In addition to property sales, the board members were treated to a performance by the Clovis High School Chamber Choir. The choir has seen growth in the program and has been ranked number one in the state. The choir is also planning a trip to Irving, Texas, in February for the American Classic Choir Festival. The board also heard about the success of the CHS Wildcat Band, with 19 members selected for the all-state band.

The next school board meeting is scheduled for January 28th at the administration building’s board room.
