Blake Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department accusing her co-star Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment on the set of “It Ends With Us.” The complaint alleges that Baldoni showed nude images to Lively, improvised physical intimacy, and pressured her to simulate full nudity during a birth scene. It also claims that Baldoni made inappropriate comments, tried to enter Lively’s trailer while she was nude, and implied that she needed to lose weight. The complaint further alleges that Baldoni and Wayfarer CEO Jamey Heath discussed personal sexual experiences and alleged pornography addiction.
The complaint states that an “all hands” meeting was held to address these issues, which nearly derailed production of the film. Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, denies the allegations, calling them false and salacious. He claims that Lively’s complaint is an attempt to fix her negative reputation.
The complaint also accuses Baldoni of hiring a crisis communications team to launch a retaliatory social manipulation campaign against Lively during the film’s promotion. Baldoni allegedly deviated from the film’s marketing plan to explain why cast and crew had unfollowed him on social media and to discredit Lively.
Lively hopes that her legal action will expose these retaliatory tactics and protect others who may be targeted for speaking up about misconduct. Sony Pictures Entertainment, the film’s distributor, has not commented on the allegations.
