Junior transfer running back Mike Washington, originally committed to Utah, has signed with Arkansas, as announced on Saturday. Washington, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound New York native, had a successful 2024 season at New Mexico State, rushing for 725 yards and eight touchdowns and catching nine passes for 74 yards with a score. His standout performance came against Western Kentucky with 152 yards and two touchdowns.
Prior to his time at New Mexico State, Washington spent three seasons at Buffalo where he totaled 1,119 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. In his sophomore year, he had 362 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while in his redshirt freshman year, he led the team with 625 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. In his freshman year, Washington appeared in three games, rushing for 132 yards and a touchdown.
In high school, he earned All-State honors after rushing for 1,423 yards and 15 touchdowns while also making 31 tackles and three interceptions on defense. Washington’s decision to join Arkansas was influenced by a visit to the campus, leading him to reconsider his commitment to Utah.
