NaQuari Rogers, New Mexico running back, makes move to Utah opportunity

Former New Mexico running back NaQuari Rogers has committed to transferring to the University of Utah, joining former teammate Devon Dampier. Rogers had a successful season with the Lobos, finishing with 382 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He also had experience playing at the FCS level with Campbell, where he ran for 829 yards and 10 touchdowns in 17 games. Rogers is one of three running backs transferring to Utah, alongside Wayshawn Parker and Mike Washington. Parker, the No. 2 running back in the transfer portal, is expected to compete for the RB1 role after a strong freshman season at Washington State. Washington led New Mexico State in rushing in 2024, while Dampier was a key contributor for New Mexico. The addition of Rogers adds depth to the running back room at Utah, which also features returner Mike Mitchell and incoming recruits Raycine Guillory and Daniel Bray. While Parker, Washington, and Mitchell may be the front runners for the starting role in 2025, Rogers has shown he is a capable running back and could earn valuable playing time. With the talented group of running backs at Utah, including the addition of Rogers, the team’s running game looks to be in good hands for the upcoming season.
