NM State Swimmers Dominate Utah Tech in Dual Meet
In a historic first-ever dual meet between NM State swimmers and Utah Tech, the Aggies emerged victorious with a score of 173-78. The team took home first place in 12 out of 14 events, showcasing their dominance in the pool. Standout performances from Katie Rink, Emily Dobbins, and Dijana Mazumdar propelled the Aggies to their second-largest margin of victory this season.
The day started strong for NM State with a win in the 200 medley relay, setting the tone for the rest of the meet. Katie Rink led the charge with a commanding victory in the 1000 free, while Naomi Slee, Lina Khiyara, and Dreamer Kowatch swept the podium in the 200 free.
Throughout the day, the Aggies continued to dominate in various events, including the 100 back, 200 fly, 50 free, 100 free, and more. The team showcased their depth and talent by securing multiple podium finishes in each event.
Head Coach Rick Pratt commended the team’s resilience and positive energy, despite facing challenges throughout the meet. Looking ahead, NM State will face Grand Canyon in their next WAC clash on January 11, 2025.
