New Mexico State University Earns 11 All-Conference Awards


The Conference USA office recently announced the list of all-conference award winners for the 2024 football season, with New Mexico State University receiving 11 selections. Among these selections were six members named Second Team All-CUSA, including running backs Seth McGowan and Mike Washington, offensive lineman AJ Vaipulu, linebacker Tyler Martinez, kicker Abraham Montaño, and punter George Eberle. Additionally, center Canaan Yarro received All-CUSA Honorable Mention recognition.

Four Aggies were also named to the All-CUSA Freshman Team, including wide receiver TJ Pride, offensive lineman BJ Tolo, defensive back Tayden Barnes, and defensive tackle Malaki Ta’ase. Seth McGowan, in particular, stood out as a vital player in the Aggie backfield with over 800 rushing yards and impressive contributions in the passing game.

Other standout players included AJ Vaipulu, who helped lead the charge for the Aggie run game, and Tyler Martinez, who excelled defensively with high tackle numbers per game. Specialists Abraham Montaño and George Eberle were also recognized for their exceptional performances in the kicking and punting game.

Overall, the Aggies had a successful season with multiple players receiving conference recognition for their contributions on both offense and defense. The team is looking forward to building on this success in the upcoming seasons.
