New Mexico United helps to launch inclusive soccer league for players of all skill levels

A new soccer league called New Mexico United TOPSoccer is set to launch in Albuquerque in 2025. This six-week program is designed for individuals of all ability levels, including those with intellectual, physical, and emotional disabilities. Over 100 athletes, buddies, and coaches will come together to play and learn the game of soccer in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Each athlete will be paired with a trained volunteer “Buddy” who will provide individualized support to ensure the player’s safety, engagement, and enjoyment. The program will culminate in the New Mexico United TOPSoccer Festival on April 6, featuring fun activities for athletes and families to enjoy together.

Registration is currently open for athletes, coaches, and buddies who wish to participate in this unique program. The initiative is sponsored by New Mexico United, The Somos Unidos Foundation, Fiesta Auto Group, New Mexico Youth Soccer, the Rio Grande Down Syndrome Network, and Kraemer Fields.
