The State Canvass Board in New Mexico has officially certified the 2024 general election results, with Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, and Supreme Court Chief Justice David K. Thomson unanimously confirming the results. Toulouse Oliver expressed confidence in the integrity and efficiency of the election process, stating that all New Mexicans should trust the official results.
Two automatic recounts have been ordered for the State Representative District 57 race and the three at-large Los Alamos County Council seats. The recount results are expected to be certified on Dec. 16 at a State Canvass Board meeting.
Out of 1,382,761 total registered voters, 928,290 (67.13 percent) cast their ballots in the Nov. 5 election. The Secretary of State’s Office reported 52,358 same-day voter registrations, with 25,485 on election day.
This certification of the election results comes after a successful 2024 election process, with officials ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the votes cast. The State Canvass Board’s actions aim to provide transparency and confidence in the democratic process for the people of New Mexico.
