Adrian Wojnarowski, former ESPN NBA insider, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in March, just months before his unexpected retirement from the network. The cancer was discovered during a physical where his PSA levels were elevated. Wojnarowski’s prognosis is good, as the cancer is slow-growing and confined to his prostate. He is currently undergoing active surveillance and making lifestyle changes to manage the disease. However, his cancer diagnosis was not the reason for his retirement. Wojnarowski decided to leave ESPN to prioritize his family and personal well-being over his demanding career in sports journalism. Despite taking a significant pay cut to work at his alma mater, St. Bonaventure, Wojnarowski’s family fully supported his decision. He believes that ultimately, family and close friends are what truly matter in life, not career accomplishments. ESPN has since hired Shams Charania as their new NBA insider to replace Wojnarowski.
