Nelly Junior Joseph and Mustapha Amzil also contributed to the win with 15 and 10 points, respectively. On the USC side, Josh Cohen scored 14 points in a losing effort.

Despite a strong showing from USC, they were unable to catch up to the Lobos after falling behind early in the game. New Mexico shot 51.7 percent from the field and made 7 of 21 three-point attempts, while USC shot 49.1 percent and made 7 of 17 shots from behind the arc. The Lobos capitalized on a 14-2 run in the second half to secure the win, with Dent leading the charge with a 3-pointer and a layup.
