High School Basketball Star from New Mexico Signs hard-to-attain NIL Contract

Local basketball star Bella Hines from Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has made history by becoming the first high school player to sign a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal. Hines, who has committed to play basketball at Louisiana State University (LSU), is ranked 30th among the 2025 women’s basketball player recruiting class.

Hines’ coach praised her on-court skills, describing her as a fierce competitor with exceptional talent. She has signed an NIL deal with Nike’s Jordan brand, making her the only active high school player – male or female – to have such an agreement. The deal includes monthly merchandise allotments, Jordan products, and cash bonuses. In addition to Nike, Hines has also secured an NIL deal with jewelry company GLD.

Reflecting on her achievements, Hines expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with a prestigious brand like Jordan and emphasized the importance of feeling at home within the LSU basketball program. She is excited to embark on this new chapter in her career and is savoring every moment of her success.
