Washington’s strong performance overwhelms Texas Southern as they defeat them 99-68


Tru Washington was the star player for New Mexico as they secured a dominant 99-68 victory over Texas Southern on Sunday night. Washington scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and made four steals to lead the Lobos to their fifth win of the season. Mustapha Amzil added 18 points while Filip Borovicanin chipped in with 11 points.

The Tigers from Texas Southern put up a fight with Kavion McClain leading the team with 15 points and six assists. Jaylen Wysinger and Zaire Hayes also contributed with 12 and 10 points respectively.

New Mexico took control of the game towards the end of the first half and never looked back. They led 38-31 at halftime and extended their lead to 77-48 in the second half thanks to an 11-0 scoring run. Borovicanin scored 11 points in the second half to help seal the win for New Mexico.
