A winter storm is bringing snow and rain to northern New Mexico, with snowfall expected to continue into Thanksgiving morning. Winter storm warnings and weather advisories are in place for the Chama area and areas north of Raton, with additional snow accumulation of 5 to 7 inches expected. Strong winds are also hitting parts of the state, with potential wind gusts reaching up to 70 mph in some areas. After the storm passes, temperatures are expected to drop, with a brief warming trend on Thanksgiving Day before settling into colder temperatures. The storm system will bring a mix of rain and snow to central New Mexico, with the possibility of slick roads and light ground cover in some areas. The situation in southern New Mexico is different, with warmer temperatures before the front moves in later in the evening. The storm system is expected to clear out, leaving dry conditions with temperatures remaining in the 40s and 50s for the rest of the week.
