NM State Center Canaan Yarro Named to 2024 Conference USA Football All-Academic Team
Senior center Canaan Yarro from NM State has been recognized for his outstanding leadership both on and off the field by being selected to the 2024 Conference USA Football All-Academic Team. Yarro, a Communication Studies major from Provo, Utah, is one of just four individuals on the team with a perfect 4.0 GPA and one of only two players to earn this honor in consecutive years.
Yarro has been an essential leader for the Aggies this season, starting at center in almost every game and helping to anchor an offensive line that ranks well in rushing yards and sacks allowed in the conference. Under his leadership, the Aggies reached a season-high of 331 rushing yards in a game against Western Kentucky.
This recognition adds to Yarro’s accomplishments as he becomes one of only 41 players in CUSA history to earn multiple all-academic honors. The Aggies are set to face Middle Tennessee in their final road game of the season on November 23.
