Prominent personalities in Mumbai, including former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actor Akshay Kumar, and Rajkummar Rao, were among the first voters in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. Tendulkar, along with his family, emphasized the importance of voting, while Kumar praised the arrangements at the polling booth and urged everyone to vote. Other celebrities like Kartik Aaryan, Urmila Matondkar, and Sonu Sood also cast their votes and encouraged citizens to do the same.
Rajkummar Rao stressed the significance of voting as a right in a democracy, while Riteish Deshmukh expressed confidence in his party’s victory. Musician Vishal Dadlani appealed to people to come out and vote for the love of their state and country. Pooja Bhatt, Kabir Khan, Zoya Akhtar, Ali Fazal, John Abraham, and Farhan Akhtar also exercised their voting rights early in the day.
A total of 4,136 candidates are contesting in the elections, with 288 assembly constituencies up for grabs. The voting process, which began at 7 am, is expected to conclude at 6 pm. With a focus on encouraging voter turnout, these celebrities set an example by fulfilling their civic duty and participating in the democratic process.
