NM State Swim Team Set to Compete in Three-Day Meet in Houston
The NM State swim team is gearing up for a three-day meet in Houston this weekend, alongside competitors from Houston, Rice, Florida Gulf Coast, and other universities. The Aggies, with a 2-1 record, are coming off a successful home meet where they secured wins over WAC opponents Northern Arizona and UTRGV.
The upcoming meet, featuring 19 events across three days, will provide a midseason challenge for the Aggie swimmers. The team is led by First Team All-WAC honorees Emily Dobbins, Naomi Slee, Kodi Wiman, and Katie Rink, as well as nine Second Team All-WAC honorees.
The schedule of events includes relays and individual races, with prelims starting at 10 a.m. MT and finals in the afternoon. The Aggies are looking to continue their strong performances from their previous meet, where they set records and secured multiple first-place finishes.
Head Coach Rick Pratt sees this meet as a valuable opportunity for the team to prepare for the WAC championships in February, which will also be held in Houston. With the season halfway done, the Aggies are focused on delivering fast performances and continuing their success in the pool.
