Concerning text messages from Kobayashi on Nov. 11 mentioned being scared and concerns about someone trying to steal her money and identity. Family members reported her missing to various law enforcement agencies, including the LAPD. There is security video of Kobayashi in downtown LA that has raised concerns about her wellbeing. Family members are focusing their search efforts in this area. Kobayashi had booked the trip to New York with a boyfriend, which she has since broken up with. There are concerns for her safety and wellbeing, especially after the concerning text messages. The family reassured the public that Kobayashi does not have a history of mental illness. The search for Kobayashi continues, with her family and loved ones hoping for her safe return.
