NM State Aggies Set for Key Road Matchup Against Middle Tennessee

Las Cruces, N.M. – The NM State Aggies (2-8, 1-5 CUSA) are gearing up for their second consecutive road game of the season this Saturday against Middle Tennessee (3-7, 2-4 CUSA) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Scheduled for 12:30 p.m. MT at Floyd Stadium, the Aggies look to bounce back after their recent 38-3 defeat to No. 15 Texas A&M.

With only two games left this season, NM State aims to improve its Conference USA standings before closing out the schedule with a rivalry game against UTEP on November 30. Notably, the Aggies are seeking their first win in Murfreesboro, holding an 0-2 record against the Blue Raiders on the road.

The Aggies’ rushing offense, led by standout running backs Seth McGowan and Mike Washington, has shown promise. McGowan’s 701 rushing yards this season ranks as one of the best in recent history, while Washington is just 39 yards shy of joining McGowan in surpassing the 600-yard mark. Their capability in the ground game will be vital, especially against a Middle Tennessee defense that struggles against the run, allowing an average of 207.5 yards per game.

Additionally, NM State’s recent game featured a remarkable improvement in turnover margin, with no turnovers committed against Texas A&M, a first for the season. As the Aggies look to learn from their experiences and make strides in their final contests, they are focused on breaking a six-game road losing streak.

Fans can catch the action on ESPN+ or listen on 99.5 FM KXPZ, as NM State continues its quest for a turnaround in the latter part of the season.
