High School Football Highlights: Week 13
In an exciting weekend of high school football, teams showcased their talent and determination in the Week 13 playoffs, delivering thrilling matches and unforgettable moments across the region.
One of the standout performances came from the Albuquerque Bulldogs, who faced off against the La Cueva Bears. The Bulldogs displayed exceptional skill on both offense and defense, ultimately securing a decisive victory with a final score of 28-14. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Storm continued their impressive season, dominating the Rio Rancho Rams to secure their playoff advancement. Over in the 6A bracket, the Carlsbad Cavemen took on the Eldorado Eagles in a nail-biting game. The Cavemen pulled off a stunning last-minute win, thanks to a 40-yard field goal by kicker Alex Reyes, clinching the game at 24-21. This victory propels them further into the playoffs and keeps their championship hopes alive.
The Sandia Matadors also made headlines with a commanding 35-10 win against the Manzano Monarchs. The Matadors’ defense was impenetrable, causing numerous interceptions and allowing minimal scoring opportunities for Manzano.
