Discounts on Black Friday typically range from 20-30%, with some retailers offering markdowns up to 50%. Premium brands may not discount more than 20-30% to maintain brand integrity. Retailers may offer incentives like free gift cards or bonus rewards to encourage spending. Beauty and footwear are better buys on Cyber Monday, while travel deals are typically better on “Travel Tuesday.” Toys, holiday decorations, exercise equipment, linens, and bedding are cheaper later in December or during January “white sales.”
To get even lower prices, consumers can use price-tracking browser extensions, comparison shopping apps, stack discounts with credit card rewards and cash-back sites, and take advantage of price adjustment policies. By being strategic about when and where to shop, consumers can maximize their savings during the holiday shopping season.
