2024 New Mexico Election Voter Guide

As Election Day approaches in November, KOAT Action 7 News is providing a comprehensive guide to help voters be prepared. Key dates to remember include the start of early in-person absentee voting on October 8, with expanded early voting beginning on October 19. November 2 is the deadline for early voting, and November 5 is the statewide primary election day.

Voters can find polling places in Bernalillo County, Santa Fe County, San Juan County, and throughout New Mexico for various offices up for election including United States representatives, U.S. Senator, State Senate, State Representative, Public Education Commission, District Attorney, and County Offices.

For those considering mail-in voting versus absentee voting, New Mexico allows any registered voter to request an early voting (absentee) ballot without providing a reason. The deadline for early voting applications is October 22, with absentee ballots needing to be received by the county clerk by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Sample ballots can be viewed on the New Mexico Secretary of State’s website by entering registration information.

In case of any issues at the polls, voters are advised to contact a supervisor at their polling place who can assist and get in touch with the election office for guidance. Stay informed and ready for Election Day with the resources provided by KOAT Action 7 News.
